Today was the last session, which featured Dr. William Davis (“The Great Whole Grain Caper”) and Chris Masterjohn (“Why Animal Fats are Good for You”).
Dr. Ron Rosedale was unable to attend the cruise due to a family emergency, so his presentation was replaced by 4 mini-presentations: 1) Jason and Mira Calton, authors of Naked Calories (link to Kindle edition of Naked Calories), 2) Matt McCarry and Stacy Toth, authors of Eat Like a Dinosaur, 3) Helen Hilts, MD, with a presentation on insulin resistance, and 4) Dana Carpender, author of several low-carb cookbooks.
The afternoon session was a two-and-a-half-hour Q&A session, which addressed maybe ten percent of the questions (written and submitted in advance). I have some ideas for next year’s Q&A to tighten that up, but I’ll bet Jimmy has already thought of most of my suggestions already.
Tonight is the obligatory hug & cry session, and then we need to get packed and ready for leaving the ship in the morning, so this post is brief from necessity. I have a couple of podcasts recorded, on which I will need to put in several hours to get into presentable shape, and I plan to go back and add photos to this and other LC cruise posts. It’s much quicker and easier to just take photos than it is to sort, crop, shrink, and upload them and place them in appropriate places, and expensive and slow internet doesn’t help with that. I’m also way behind in my responses to email, mainly because of a glitch that I don’t understand that kept my offline mail read (Thunderbird) from getting all of my mail from Gmail. I have some experiments to run once I get home to try to determine what the problem is, and get it fixed before the next time I find myself with limited and costly internet access.
Over the next week or so, you will see some additional photos, and perhaps some minor edits to the articles we posted this week. I will also be adding a lot of links that got omitted due to lack of time.
